100 YEARS

Since the 1920's the Butti family have been residents of the North Bay Nipissing area.  In the later half of that time period we have captured many artistic black & white (B&W) images.  The catalogue of prints are a blend of  my father's B&W film work (John Butti 1932-2014)  along with my (Mike Butti) digital works.  Today we are proud to have assembled our first installment of fine art B&W large-format prints that elegantly capture the textures, shadows, and patterns of our landscape, parks, and iconic subjects throughout North Bay Nipissing area, Northern Ontario, and the Canadian East.

DEDICATION

In 1978 my father began his 25 plus years mastering the art of taking and developing B&W prints, Within that time period he studied the B&W masters, attended Freeman Paterson workshops,  headed the North Bay Photography Club , and earned a reputation by other local notable photographers (Ed Eng and Jack Sheppard) as one of North Bay's best  "technical B&W darkroom print maker" .

Our mission is TWO-FOLD 1. Enjoyment of seeing these local Fine Art B&W Prints preserved on walls 2. Generate a sustainable charity give back where every print sold contributes between $10 to $100 to a worthy local charity.

TRUE-LIFE IMAGE | ARCHIVAL QUALITY  

Our catalogue of prints were shot with professional lenses (Nikkor, Canon, Olympus, LensBaby, and 7Artisans) using physical B&W lens filters. Only basic tonal, contrast, dodging & burning adjustments are made ensuring that each final print remains 100% accurate to the subject and its location element(s) plus any lens aberration(s). We NEVER sharpen our images. We DO NOT Photoshop element(s) in or out. B&W post production within our digital workflow is limited to adjusting contrast and gray-scale levels. Occasionally a subject's tones and white balance are pushed hard pending lens filter (near infrared photography). All B&W prints are individually produced with the Epson K3 Chrome archival inks along with world-class fine art photo paper ensuring each giclee print is of the  highest-quality and all framing materials are acid-free.
